Road Trip Day 4 – Boxing Day Test match, Day 4   Leave a comment

Sunday, 29 December, 2013

Back at the scene of the crime! Couldn’t resist coming along to the fourth day of the Melbourne Test Match, partly in the hope that England just might show some spirit and make a game of it. However, at lunch Australia are 143 for 1 chasing 233 to win and looking in no trouble at all.

Well, like Mr Smith used to say in The Matrix, ‘the end is inevitable!’. In the end, it was brutal and Aussies smashed us all over the oval to win the match by 8 wickets to move 4-0 in the series. Anyway, there was a silver lining to the day, as it means that I’m got time take a round the centre of Melbourne, which is packed with shoppers looking for those after Christmas sale bargains.
