Temora Air Show   1 comment

Wow, what a day!

At daft O’clock this morning Glenn and I took a two and half hour drive over to the town of Temora, where the bi-annual Warbirds Downunder air show at their Temora Aviation Museum in the town. Those of you who are regular readers of my blog may have noticed that I have been to the Aviation Museum before to visit one of their showcases, but today’s event was a much bigger affair than that and included all of the museums aircraft in the air well as many visiting aircraft around Australia and beyond.

We arrived just after the scheduled start time and what followed was 5 hours of near continuous aircraft in the air, from the very earliest Tiger Moth through many of Australia’s own built aircraft such as the CA-16 Wirraway , CA-13 Boomerang and the CA-27 Sabre as well as many post-war classics such as the Spitfire, Chipmunk, Mustangs, Canberra bombers etc. Not to be overlooked the Royal Australian Air Force had sent up two of their Hawk trainers and two FA-18 Hornets to show what a modern military aeroplane looks like and can do when in the air.

As you can see below I took lots of photographs during the day and rather than describe the day here, I’ll let you navigate through each of the photographs in order to get a flavour of what occurred. So either click the first photograph in the series below to start a slide show of the day or hover your mouse over each photograph to see a description of what it’s all about.
