The Grand Tour   Leave a comment

Tuesday, 2nd October, 2012

Oh no, I’m well behind on my blog updates, so I’ve decided just to post the pictures with a brief commentary for now in the hope that I’ll find the time to compose the full blog entry.

Up early this morning as we only had a few hours to show Jimmy round the delights of Canberra before he had to jump on a coach back to Sydney (Some people would say that’s more than enough, but we won’t go there in this blog entry!). After we introduced him to Elvis, it was round to our local cafe for a full cooked breakfast. Luckily, the weather was excellent so we started off with a drive up Black Mountain to the Telstra Tower and its fantastic views of Canberra and beyond.

Then we drove over the lake to Parliamentary area. We didn’t have time to take in the new Parliament building so we parked outside the old one and took a quick look around the debating chambers and the prime ministers offices. finally, all we had time for was to drop onto the lake shore for a coffee and a look at some of the national building lining the lake before it was off to the coach station to put Jimmy on the coach back to Sydney and the start of his Aussie tour with his daughter, Christina.

Safe journey, have a great trip and we’ll see you in you a few weeks
